Google Android Chief Says 6 Million Android Tablets “Out There” On stage at a conference Wednesday morning, Google’s Android chief, Andy Rubin, said that there are roughly six million Android tablets “out there.” (Whether that means that are six million devices have actually been sold rather than merely manufactured is unclear.) BlackBerry Unveils New OS for Smartphones & Tablets On stage at the Research in Motion BlackBerry developer conference Tuesday, co-founder and CEO Mike Lazardis announced a new, unified operating system for BlackBerry smartphones, tablets and other devices called BlackBerry BBX. Apple Revenues Come in Lower Than Expected Apple on Tuesday reported revenues of $28.27 billion for its fiscal fourth quarter, lower than some analysts had predicted, but above the company's outlook of $25 billion. The company is currently sitting on $81.5 billion in cash. Yahoo Reports Dismal Earnings, Revenue Down 24% Yahoo posted disappointing third-quarter results Tuesday, although the company did report higher than expected earnings per share.
